Once you've sent out your application pack, you must immediately start preparing for what could be the most crucial interview of your teaching career! Your killer application pack will do the job of securing you a number of targeted interviews, now you have to sell yourself to the recruiter in person.
Whether you are attending an interview at a international teaching job fair, at the school or in a hotel conference room, you will need to be prepared. Are you already a confident interviewee? Regardless, you will need to spend some time preparing for your own piece of mind.
Don't leave this to chance! I recently received an email from a distraught customer whose killer application pack had secured her an invitation to interview with a much sought after school in Europe. Only to die a flaming death when she got there. Why? Because she hadn't prepared adequately and fudged her answers. Luckily, in her case, she'd managed to secure several other interviews on the strength of her application, and she realised her mistake in time to fix it. But, please, avoid doing this to yourself, PREPARE, PREPARE, PREPARE!
Remember your focus at the interview is to sell yourself to the recruiter as the best possible candidate for the position, NOT to find out how much you'll be paid. Once you've been offered a contract, you then interview the recruiter and make the decision to accept or decline the job offer. Depending on the recruiter, most of this information should come up naturally during the course of the interview, you won't need to dig for it!
