I cannot stress how important it is to put together a killer application pack. Your resume, around which your whole application pack hinges, must be eye-catching, informative and really sell you as the best candidate for your desired teaching position abroad.
Before you send your resume out to recruiters, get it proofed! Teachers send me their resumes all the time (please send them directly to the schools that you want to work at!) and I'm shocked at the obvious grammar mistakes and poor layout of many of them. If I was a recruiter, I wouldn't consider even interviewing over half of the people who have sent me their resumes, simply because of they are poorly written and badly organised.
Also, you are sending an 'application pack'! A resume by itself is unlikely to get you the kind of lucrative position you're looking for... if you're not sure what you should be including in your application pack, I've got a detailed step-by-step plan to put yours together in my Guide.
At the very least, you need a cover letter to 'introduce' yourself to the recruiter and lead them into reading your resume. It's your cover letter that's your first impression.
Remember to include your contact information and the contact information of your referees. Many recruiters will contact your referees directly when your application pack interestes them. Get permission from your referees to include their contact details - it would be unprofessional not to do this.
Once you've got yourself a resume, make sure that you have great accompanying documentation in your application pack. There's not much point having an awesome resume that's professionally written and a catch 'em by the throat cover letter, if you don't have great recommendation letters and flawlessly translated credentials.
