Providing Documentary Evidence -
Get your Documents Certified

Copies of official documents can be certified by a government official. These include, but are not limited to: 

 •  public notary
 •  Justice of the Peace
 •  Commissioner of Oaths
 •  school principal

The person certifying the copy must check the original against the copy to ensure that the copy is an accurate one, then they must do the following:

  •  write 'This is a true and accurate copy of the original document sighted by me' on the copy;
 •  sign the copy and add the date;
 •  print their name, address, phone number, profession and position;
 •  stamp the copy with an official stamp of the organisation they work for, if the organisation has one.
